Every Easter, bunnies and ducklings are given to children as pets. Ducklings grow quickly. They eat lots of duck food, splash the water out of their little pools, and generally make an icky sticky mess of their pen. Cleaning a duck pen is no fun. Sunshine “Sunny” the Pekin drake

The new ducks are kind of weird. For one thing, white is not a good color in this muddy habitat. For another thing, they are awfully slow to learn the routine. Yesterday, the Farm Manager burst through the back door with a stranger carrying a couple of big plastic containers. I was hoping it was lettuce or trimmings from the grocery store, but then the stranger dumped three big white ducks out of those containers into the bully pen. And then he left.
